Our Open Demonstrations of Psychodrama & Sociometry provide an introduction to action methods, ideal for those new to psychodrama or curious about its impact. By attending you’ll experience psychodrama firsthand, gaining insights into emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Mallory Primm, PsyD, PAT, Brittany Lakin-Starr, Ph.D.,TEP, and Kate Merkle, LCSW, MPH, RDN, PAT, are experienced trainers and together collectively hold 30 years of experience in psychodrama and sociometry.
Psychodramatic enactments may involve various techniques, including role-training, empty chair, and doubling, to enhance the exploration of emotions and relationships. Participants often engage in role reversals to gain fresh perspectives. During the psychodrama demonstration, the director(s) skillfully guide the process of the warm-up, action, and sharing, offering valuable insights for self-awareness.

Previous training in psychodrama and/or acting is NOT required. These sessions are for anyone from the first time participant to individuals with advanced training in psychodrama. Our attendees include individuals curious about experiential methods, professionals, and students seeking personal growth. Teachers, counselors, social workers, nurses, healthcare professionals, creative arts therapists, coaches, and lawyers are all welcome!
Psychodrama Training Hours
This event offers 2 psychodrama training hours for students who are working toward the American Board of Examiners (ABE) certification in Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy. These hours are valid indefinitely. This event does not offer CEs.
