PSYCHODRAMA ACCELERATOR

The Accelerator is a 80-hour training program in psychodrama, sociometry, and group psychotherapy. It meets for three weekends yearly and two, 90 minute Zoom check-ins between weekends. The training provides 68 CEs for Illinois Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, U.S. Registered Dietitians (RD/RDN), Diet Technician Registered (DTR, NDTR), and Public Health professionals (CPH).

Didactic & Experiential Training

This closed training group provides ample opportunities for participants to step into various roles, including protagonist, auxiliary, audience, group member, and student director. Didactics are seamlessly integrated into the training days to reinforce learning of psychodramatic theory and practice. All participants have the chance to engage in student directing, tailored to their experience level, to hone their skills and receive real-time feedback and guidance from the trainers. Customized directing tracks accommodate participants of all experience levels, encouraging integration of new learning into their professional settings.

Personal Growth & Community Support

The Accelerator offers a highly experiential approach, fostering personal growth in a nurturing and safe environment. Participants can expect to gain insights into personal challenges and enhance self-compassion. Grounded in Moreno’s principles, the Accelerator prioritizes the notion that we are all co-creators in the healing process. This emphasis on collective involvement contributes to group building and strengthening community connections within the program. Designed as a closed training group, it provides participants with ongoing connections and support.

Continuing Education & Certification

The Chicago Center for Psychodrama is approved as a continuing education sponsor for Illinois Psychologists (#268.000147), Social Workers and Counselors (#159-001583) by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation, and for U.S. Registered Dietitians (RD/RDN), Diet Technician Registered (DTR, NDTR), and Public Health professionals (CPH). Additionally, training hours are approved by the American Board of Examiners (ABE) in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy toward certification. Accelerator provides 68 CEs for the disciplines listed above.

Pursuing psychodrama certification through the American Board of Examiners (ABE) is not a requirement for participation. However, all Accelerator trainers are certified by the ABE, are knowledgeable with the ABE certification journey, and provide guidance to help streamline the process, making it more efficient. Annually, participants obtain 80 psychodrama training hours toward certification, which remain valid indefinitely.

Cancellation Policy

Due to limited availability and personalized reservations, refunds are not provided. However, in exceptional circumstances, a credit will be issued for use in future training sessions.
