Brittany Lakin-Starr, PhD, TEP, Chicago Center for Growth and Change; & Kate Merkle, MPH, RDN, LCSW, PAT, Nourishment Works
During this experiential and didactic workshop, participants will advance their knowledge and professional skills in facilitating groups through learning about group dynamics (sociometry), roles, and the three phases to a psychodrama group (i.e., warm up, action, and sharing). Participants will also learn how sociometric and psychodramatic techniques can enrich their clinical work with groups. The presenters will demonstrate sociometric and psychodramatic interventions including spectrogram, doubling, and empty chair, that can help individuals understand, shift, and/or expand the various roles they play. Participants will also learn about the history and evolution of psychodrama, sociometry, and group therapy along with ongoing research.
